The Keystone XL tar sands crude pipeline:
brought to you by TransCanada
(the same corporation that brought you the tar-sands-leaking Keystone pipeline)
The following maps were made available by the the Texas RailRoad Commision on their mapping site at gis2.rrc.state.tx.us/public/startit.htm.
(See RRC_maps.html on instructions for how to navigate the RailRoad Commision's mapping site. Of particular interest is the indicated status of the pipeline as "In Service." !!!)
They show the route of the Phase III, or Gulf leg, of the Keystone XL in Texas which their owners are expediting in order to move diluted tar sands crude from Cushing, Oklahoma, to the Texas gulf coast.
The Keystone XL pipeline path is represented by the red line.
The maps are sequenced from north to south through the state, with the Houston feeder line shown immediately after its branching off in Liberty County.
Scales for the different counties are not equivalent.
The maps of Cherokee, Angelina, and Harris counties, unlike the remaining maps, fail to show waterways or existing pipelines.
